Coloring for comics - short term or long term 28 Replies

I got embroiled in a chat over at DW about color, and part of made me wonder how many strip people, for online or newspapers, color their comics for the first usage or a later usage. For example, ho…

I am a humorist, not an illustrator. If I have a proposition regarding a 50/50 collaboration with an illustrator (not your typical paying job), is this the proper forum to propose it?  Thanks.

Advertising... minutes at a time!

I'd just like to let everyone know that I advertised for (honestly) 7 minutes on a high profile site last night so that I would only spend 6 cents. Yes, I'm that awesome.

What are some ways that I can advertise for free? Anyone out there with some terrific ideas?

Kindergarten Gunplay

I've put together a couple of strips for a concept called Kindergarten Gunplay, an R-rated strip about anthropomorphic blobs that do crime, quote the Tao te Ching, and generally revel in offensive absurdity. I'm wondering if I should release them in a blog format, or if I should set up an html or flash based site. A little feedback on the comic and advice on the website would be appreciated, thanks!

Hello all,

I've just launched a webcomic called Brilliant Boy, based on the comic that I self-published in the late '90s by the same name. There will be a new strip every Monday, Wednesday… Continue

Progress on "My not-so-udderly-appealing cow"

Lucky for me I found ToonTalk and after great advice, I think Beatrix looks a hell of a lot better! What do you think?

I don't want to be the one to accidentally raise a dead topic, but I didn't want to accidentally get tossed in a future Sp@m purge. I'm very real, well, unless this is all just some holodeck simulation in which case I have been programmed to think t…

I have a classic problem with this. When I was starting out, I often failed to establish the set-up so that I could develop it through the strip, even though I thought I had. That's what I see here. I have absolutely know idea what "looking for l…
