I’ve uploaded my semi-finalist submission, Above the Fold, if anyone would like to take a look.

Constructive feedback is more than welcome … Please feel free to email me your comments.

...being stormed by angry Harry Potter fans...LOL

Thanks, Leann.

Ironically, a Harry Potter fan has already pointed out that a true Harry Potter fan would never use one of the "Unforgivable Curses" on an unsuspecting Muggle :)

That's even funnier! :-D

Well, looks like I didn't make it as well.

If anyone is interested, I will be posting my entry "Stuffed" on my website on a regular basis. Right now I have a few Halloween themed strips up.

Hi guys. Here's a link to Peggy, which made it to the top 50.

You'll also see a shameless plug for a book I publish titled "The Landon School of Illustrating and Cartooning" -- a reprint of the cartoon correspondence course founded in the early 1900s which was studied by quite a few early comic strip artists: Carl Barks (Uncle Scrooge -- he only studied the first few lessons), Sid Couchey (Richie Rich), Milton Caniff (Terry and the Pirates, Steve Canyon), Jack Cole (Plastic Man), Roy Crane (Wash Tubbs and Captain Easy, Buzz Sawyer), Gil Fox (DC comics), Floyd Gottfredson (Mickey Mouse), Viince Hamlin (Alley Oop), Bill Holman (creator: Smokey Stover), Jud Hurd (Cartoonist PROfiles), Bill Mauldin (Willie and Joe), and Chic Young (Blondie).

First off congrats go out to Josh and Mike for making it as far as you did. Great job! I took it pretty hard at first that I didn't make the top ten, but then I reminded myself I have only been doing comics for like a year and I should be grateful to even make it that far.

I read through the top ten and picked my favorite. It was a close tie between two but I had to pick one.

And one more thought, its really funny to see how subjective taste can be... Some of the ones I thought were the best have been panned on the usual round of message boards, while some of the ones I didn't think were all that special have been praised. I suppose the judges took this into consideration. Needless to say, I am interested to see how the voting turns out!!

Hey Jesse,

Congrats to you TOO for making it this far. I too have been doing this for less than a year. I believe I started drawing in either February or April of 2009.

No matter how you look at it, we have achieved something great and it can only get better from here. Keep up the good work!

As for the top ten, my vote went for Buni! I feel privileged to lose to Buni. His sense of humor is awesome and I can't wait to see it in print! I am SURE it will win. It was hard for me to choose, because there were so many good ones, but I just love how Buni is so abused in the strip.
