Funny. Nice, clean style. Makes me want to get an iPhone. --Lee

I get that, but that doesn't make it a Dilbert knock-off, in concept or stylistically. --Lee

I liked Bruni a LOT. It's hard to do simple and twist it. Dilbert knockoff? Nope. Drawing style similarities? Nope. Simply a simple line? Yep. Interesting array of strips in the final ten. --Lee

Thanks, Pete. Where I live, tax collecting is something my wife and I can do from our home, it offers public service, would give us a stable income, and we'd be able to continue our different creative enterprises. It's not likely I get the job, ...

I don't know why the hell you'd want to be a tax collector, but your strips are very good. Nice pacing and tone, many very funny and pointed. Let us know how the election goes.

I'm happy to discuss the process and rationale for this, now that it's winding down; it's one of the reasons I put it here, because I thought folks might be interested in seeing some different use of our chosen medium. Yep, this is paid advertisi...

Interesting that you should note that, Ross, because one of the reasons I tried this is because everybody knows my opponent, and the older residents who grew up here pretty much know each other, but few of the new folks/people who've moved here in...

Not relevant to the cartoon -- which I like -- but to the process: Are you paying for space as a political ad, or is the paper donating this space? Do they normally run your cartoons, or is this a new thing for readers? When elections came at the...

That's a really interesting idea. The comics do a nice job of "humanizing" you to the audience. On a lot of politicians' websites, the goal appears to be to make the candidate seem as robot-like as possible. I like your site better.

Malc, Wow! Fantastic thread! At the risk of blacklisting myself from the powerful galactic federation of Syndicates, I mostly agree with you. I have only been a member of this forum for a mere week or so. I found it by chance, but after seeing wh...

Thanks! And I won't get elected (because young people don't vote; P. Diddy left the building). But when it's over, we're going to sit down and crunch the numbers to see how (if at all) turnout was different from the last off-year election, and w...

That is brilliant! I hope you get elected! Be sure to tell us what the final vote comes out. FYI: Young people don't vote, unless P. Diddy is threatening to kill them. -Josh www.theohnozone.com

That's not just clever, but a great way to use your natural talent to get your message across in the medium you know best.

I've been doing something a little different with the comic strip medium. Locally, I've been running for tax collector. While I've been involved in local politics for four-plus years, I'm not particularly well-known in my township. This elected p...

Nice creative approach to blending old and new technologies. --Lee

If you're looking to do a daily strip, find SOME way to consciously pull it together. Some people do it on purpose, some people do it intuitively. Since "intuitively" isn't working for you (yet), try "on purpose," realizing that it will define th...
